🔹Keynote Speaker🔹

Dr. Grant Horner from Master’s University

Dr. Grant Horner brings a wealth of expertise in literature, theology, and philosophy of the Renaissance and Reformation to his academic pursuits. His research delves into the intersection of Christian Humanism with Classical Graeco-Roman pagan mythology and philosophy, particularly within the context of developing Reformed thought.

Dr. Horner's academic contributions extend beyond his research. He authored "Meaning at the Movies," a notable work on film and theology that achieved Amazon bestseller status and was nominated for Book of the Year in Christianity and Culture by the Book Retailers Association.

At Master’s University, Dr. Horner offers a diverse range of courses encompassing Medieval and Renaissance literature, Film Studies, Shakespeare, Milton, John Calvin, Poetry and Poetics, Comedy, Critical Theory, Western Art History, Epic, Classical Christian Humanism, and Classical Latin. His passion for film extends to his teaching and discussion of movies, enriching his engagement with students.

Outside of academia, Dr. Horner is an avid enthusiast of rock climbing, ice climbing, and mountaineering, activities that have been central to his life since 1979.

Dr. Grant Horner's multifaceted interests and scholarly pursuits make him a valuable asset to the academic community at Master’s University and beyond.
